'Hungry Ghost' will see release in the country in September

Beloved Brissy rock juggernauts Violent Soho have had arguably one of the best starts to the weekend of anyone in the country, with an announcement coming overnight that they are the newest signing to esteemed Canadian indie label Dine Alone Records.

Dine Alone, if you’re unfamiliar, is only about nine years old as a label but nonetheless boasts a mighty line-up of acts on its roster, including City And Colour, FIDLAR, Jimmy Eat World, Kate Nash, and The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, and it’s no stranger to showing love to Aussie artists – DZ Deathrays, Glass Towers and The Jezabels all sit among the ranks.

The signing comes fresh on the heels of a 14-date sold-out national tour for the Splendour standouts, a little longer after their signing to US label SideOneDummy, and just in time to see their third studio full-length Hungry Ghost cement a September 30 release date for our Canadian friends. Pre-sales will be available a little earlier than that, on August 26.

Naturally, Australians have been across the greatness of Hungry Ghost for a while – nearing on a year, in fact – for eight months of which it held its place in the ARIA top 40 after making its debut at #6.
