American indie rock trio Violent Femmes are set to return to Australia in December to mark the 30th anniversary of the release of their debut album.

Original members Gordon Gano and Brian Ritchie will be joined by newest member Brian Viglione to play Violent Femmes in its entirety along with tracks from its follow-up Hallowed Ground.

The first show for the Australian tour has been announced for the Sydney Opera House on December 29 — tickets go on sale to the general public at 9am, Friday 15 August.
