Village Sounds Set Up Asian Office

Booking agency Village Sounds have set up an Asian presence with the launch of a Singapore office.

Melissa Yong of Singapore music website Other Sounds has signed on as the exclusive agent for Village Sounds Asia, with Brisbane's Last Dinosaurs the first band to benefit from the expansion. They'll tour Singapore in November.

Singapore-born Yong has previously lived in Australia for eight years and has promoted events through Other Sounds. Today Village Sounds' co-director Evan Davis said, “We felt it important to have a presence in Asia, given it's such a growing market on the live music scene around the world.”

He added, “We felt Melissa was a great fit to launch the agency in Asia, given her understanding of Australian bands and the Asian touring market, along with her enthusiasm and excitement about the partnership.”

Village Sounds' local roster includes 360, Birds Of Tokyo, The Living End, Vance Joy, Violent Soho and Dune Rats, amongst others.
