"We are of course delighted with the huge success, but we still want to ask the TikTok community to stop this challenge."

A TikTok video featuring Vengaboys' track Up & Down has gone viral but the Dutch band want it to stop.

The 'Up & Down Challenge', also known as the #vengachallenge, requires a couple to perform a dangerous acrobatic exercise that has resulted in many suffering serious injuries including broken bones and fractures.

Tens of thousands of people have attempted the challenge, including artists like US singer Jason Derulo and UK's Olly Murs.

The injuries have gotten so severe that the Eurodance group have called for the challenge to be culled.

“We are of course delighted with the huge success, but we still want to ask the TikTok community to stop this challenge," Vengaboys' Captain Kim said.

"If you break a finger or sprain your wrist, you still have to go to the hospital, where they have more important things on their mind right now.”

Fellow member D-Nice added, "At least TikTok has added a warning to the ‘Up and Down’ challenge videos.

"And even though we can see that a lot of people are having fun, we are pleading with them to please stop.”
