Members of Beasts Of Bourbon, DZ Deathrays, Rocket From The Crypt, The Dirtbombs and New Bomb Turks are now wrapped up in the Brisbane-based club.
The first announcement of Brisbane's Mere Noise Records Singles Club - an endeavour undertaken to celebrate its tenth anniversary - revealed that the label had secured songs from the likes of Cosmic Psychos, Bob Log III and Chinese Burns, and the second announcement released today boosts the star power considerably.
Everyone's favourite 12-headed garage rock beast Velociraptor, legendary Australian rocker Spencer P Jones & the Escape Committee (who will perform a cover of a My Bloody Valentine song!) and the Seger Liberation Army - a supergroup featuring Jim Diamond (The Dirtbombs), Jim Weber (Rocket From The Crypt, New Bomb Turns), Tom Potter (Bantam Rooster), Pat Pantano (The Come Ons) and Fred Beldin (The Clutters) performing the songs of Bob Seger - three of the big names. That's not to take away from Amsterdam's The Anomalys and Brisbane surf-pop wonders the Keep On Dancin's, who will also contribute tracks.
With 13 bands now announced, our calculations have us expecting to hear the announcement of another 11 at some stage before 2013 is through. There are a couple of subscriptions to the club left, you can get them through the label's Bandcamp and all profits are being donated to The Black Dog Institute.
