Infamous black metal identity Varg Vikernes is facing a potential five-year jail sentence, with the musician’s trial beginning this week.
Killyourstereo.com reported in October 2013, the Burzum member would face counts of allegedly inciting racial hatred and glorifying war crimes.
SBS reports Vikernes denies posting racist blog updates.
"I did not write the things that appear in the summons," Vikernes told a French Court.
“Vikernes said a possible misunderstanding could have arisen because he communicated through a Danish interpreter when he was briefly held in custody last year,” SBS writes.
A verdict is expected this July.
