Vance JoyVance Joy's Riptide this week became the song to spend the most weeks ever in the ARIA Singles Chart.
The song, this week sitting at number 85, this weekend marked its 107th straight week in the Top 100. It was already the longest charting local single in ARIA history (ARIA has been the country's official music sales recorder since 1988) but its blockbuster two-year run now puts it ahead of all contenders.
Riptide peaked at number six back in February 2014, and spent a total of 45 weeks in the Top 50.
The previous record holder was Lady Gaga's Poker Face which spent 106 non-consecutive weeks in chart.
The previous local record holder was Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know — it spent 89 weeks in the Top 100 between 2011 and 2013.
