Tragic news for the beloved musician.

The manager of 'dirty rapper' Clarence Reid aka Blowfly has confirmed that the veteran musician has sadly been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer.

Taking to Blowfly's official Facebook page, Tom Bowker announced that the 76-year-old producer is also suffering from multiple organ failure and was entered into hospice care earlier today.

However, after fans helped raise funds for Reid who was in danger of losing his house in 2014, Bowker has also revealed than in return a final studio album entitled 77 Rusty Trombones will be released next month.

"It is easily his best album since the early 80s, and a fitting epitaph for one of the great performers of all time," Bowker wrote.

During the '60s and '70s Reid wrote and produced for a number of big name acts including KC & The Sunshine Band and Sam & Dave, before releasing his debut album The Weird World Of Blowfly in 1971 under the alter-ego of Blowfly to protect his career as a songwriter due to the fact that his material contained sexually explicit lyrics.

He has since gone on to record over 40 albums which include Porno Freak, Blowfly's Disco Party and his most recent offering, Black In The Sack released in 2012.

He first toured Australia in 2007 and was part of the Big Day Out line-up in 2010.

In the same year a documentary based on Reid was released which was named after his debut record.

"Please know that Clarence is being made comfortable and that his sister Virginia has stood tall for him, and taken care of her brother as best as humanly possible," the Facebook statement reads.

"Please say a prayer for her and for Clarence Reid, the Maestro of the Miami Sound who loved being Blowfly - the King of the Freaks."
