New York-bred singer/model/actor/dancer MAX will undertake his maiden headline tour of Australia this year, with the multi-talented 24-year-old announcing a five-show run of dates for September.

The pop-soul wunderkind will play a string of largely licensed all-ages gigs beginning in Adelaide on Thursday 7 September, heading to Sydney before stopping for a pair of shows — one 18+, the other all ages — in Melbourne. He wraps up at The Triffid, in Brisbane, a few days later.

Though not even halfway through his 20s, MAX has already released three albums, beginning with 2013's debut Schneider Brother Covers before following up with 2015 sophomore NWL and, most recently, 2016's third album, Hell's Kitchen Angel.

That LP has already garnered the man more than 70 million streams by way of its popular single Lights Down Low (featuring gnash), to say nothing of his 2 million-plus followers across his social media platforms. His oeuvre actually goes deeper than that, though, having also put out four EPs between 2010 and 2015 as well as co-writing the soundtrack for 2012 Nickelodeon flick Rags, in which he also starred.

He's collaborated with Cody Simpson and Hoodie Allen, as well as — we'll be honest, we weren't expecting this — Rancid's Tim Armstrong, the latter of whom he formed a soul band with by the name of Witchita. He also spends time as one half of dance/electronic duo Party Pupils, who will be making an appearance during his maiden Aussie voyage.

An exclusive fan presale will get under way from 9am AEST this Wednesday, 24 May, through Select Touring. General-public tickets will go on sale from 9am local time on Friday 26 May.
