Already making its debut as a standalone festival this year, Unsound Adelaide has today announced the inaugural Discourse Program which will feature artist talks by some big names.
Confirmed to appear at the event includes Holly Herndon and German composer Uwe Schmidt, as well as a presentation on the Adelaide innovator behind Pink Floyd's famous synthesizer in Dark Side Of The Moon, Tristram Cary.
Other sessions come from Robin Fox in discussion with Kara-Lis Coverdale, Nate Young of Wolf Eyes and Errorsmith about what it means to play electro and experimental music live and US artist Colin Self speaking with Polish Unsound Director Gosia Plysa about the function music plays in relation to politics, protest and activism.
"The discourse program has long been a vital part of Unsound in Krakow and New York, providing a context for performances and a hub where audience and artists are able to interact," Unsound founder Mat Schulz said.
"Offering such a program to the Adelaide audience is another aspect of the expansion of the local festival, and a key part of developing Unsound as a stand-alone event."
Unsound Adelaide 2017, proudly supported by The Music, will be held from Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 November.
