Undertone Festival Announces All Female And Non-Binary Lineup

Undertone Festival, the Gold Coast’s newest event, has announced their stellar all female and non-binary lineup.

The festival, slated for November 10 at Miami Marketta, will be led by indie pop icon Jack River, marking her first ever headline show in the Gold Coast. She’ll be joined by Sydney alt-pop artist Montaigne, americana folk duo Hussy Hicks, and electronic alt-pop singer annie hamilton. The lead vocalist of Bachelor Girl, Tania Doko, is also locked in to play a solo set, and MC the day.

As for some local representation, Brisbane darling Hope D will bring her indie-rock vibes to the stage, alongside homegrown Gold Coast acts Eleea and Tomorrow’s Forecast. 

Presented by the Gold Coast Music Network, Undertone Festival is an all-ages event, aiming to be inclusive, accessible, and family-friendly. It also centres around uplifting marginalised voices. As such, $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the I AM ME Foundation – a platform that empowers and uplifts LGBTQIA+ trans, non-binary & gender non-conforming people, founded by gender-fluid Aussie musician Tash Sultana.

Sultana was present at the Gold Coast Music awards when Undertone Festival was first announced, and spoke on how they received “a lot of hate” for starting the I AM ME Foundation. 

“It was a controversial one, actually, when I started this charity. I have been told to ‘go die’, all of that. I am not dead, obviously, so it didn’t work. But, what it is, is that I provide grants for the LGBTQIA+ community to get gender affirming care, because it’s necessary,” they said.

Tickets for Undertone Festival are on sale now, and are intentionally affordable during this cost-of-living crisis, coming in at only $45.65 per ticket.
