“I can’t wait to get back on stage and see all our wonderful Aussie fans."
The original founder of legendary UK reggae group UB40, Ali Campbell has confirmed the band will venture Down Under later this year.
The band’s long-awaited return marks their first in four years, with the Grammy Award-winning group performing hits such as Red, Red Wine, Kingston Town, One In Ten, Food For Thought and more across the country.
The tour kicks off in Hobart in late September before taking on Sydney, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Melbourne and Bribie Island in October.
Alongside the hits, fans will also be treated to tracks from the band’s new album, Unprecedented, which has been described as a release “fuelled by the roots rocking spirit that powered UB40's original embodiment of work”.
It's also a fitting memorial to Astro, who sadly passed away in November 2021 following a short illness.
“This album is now more poignant and special than either of us could have imagined when we were recording it,” Campbell said. “Astro heartbreakingly passed just two weeks after we'd finished the final mixes, so this is a way of keeping his memory alive.”
