Two Dead, 57 Hospitalised At US EDM Festival

Two people have died from suspected drug overdoses while 57 more were hospitalised at a US EDM dance festival owned by SFX Entertainment last weekend. 

As WFLA reports, a 22-year-old male and 21-year old female likely died from an overdose of an unidentified drug after attending the Tampa-based Sunset Music Festival, run by Disco Donnie Presents. 

Tampa Police reportedly made 30 more arrests at the festival.

A statement released from organisers of the festival reads, "The health, safety and welfare of our fans and community is Sunset Music Festival’s first priority and we take every measure to create a safe environment at our events.

"Any loss of life is a tragedy and we extend our deepest heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of those affected. Due to the ongoing investigation by the medical examiner’s office, Sunset will not issue additional comments at this time."

The festival featured a line-up that included names such as Hardwell, Jack Ü and Claude VonStroke.
