Triple J Within Arms Reach Of #1 Record

Youth radio station triple j are in with a sniff of the top spot of the ARIA Albums Chart this week with their Like A Version Volume 9 album leading mid-week figures.

With Pearl Jam's Lightning Bolt currently at number one after it debuted above Miley Cyrus' Bangerz and Lorde's Pure Heroine, the top trio are still tracking well in their second, third and fourth weeks in the chart respectively.

A compilation of covers recorded during triple j's Tom & Alex breakfast show, Like A Version Volume Nine leads other titles in the top five mix, including James Blunt, with his new record Moon Landing, and Tina Arena, with Reset. AFI's Burials is tracking not far behind those titles.

Further down the rankings Bodyjar's comeback Role Model is looking to secure a top 40 debut, behind Mark Vincent who'll debut in the charts with The Quartet Sessions as the releases begin to look to Christmas.

OneRepublic's Native is enjoying a sales boost this week, as is on-tour Imagine Dragons with their album Night Visions.

Katy Perry's Roar is the punting-man's favourite to hold top spot in the ARIA Singles Chart this week, despite strong moves from Ylvis' viral hit The Fox, Imagine Dragons' On Top Of The World, Vance Joy's Riptide and Eminem's Rap God.

Taylor Henderson's X-Factor performance of Girls Just Want To Have Fun will debut strongly, with Iggy Azalea featuring T.I's Change Your Life, Dami Im's X-Factor performance of Wrecking Ball, Ellie Goulding's How Long Will I Love You and Little Mix's Move all top 50 probables.
