Up in four of the five metro weekday markets
Triple j has posted weekday rating gains in three of the five metro markets around the country today, as 2Day FM's Sydney woes continue.
The public broadcaster's only weekday losses came in Melbourne, where sister AM station ABC774 became the market leader, and Brisbane.

The Kyle & Jackie O show continues to dominate the mornings, with a 1.6 point jump for KIIS on weekdays. Overall the station gains 1.3 points (the biggest jump of the stations) to a 10.1 percent weekday share, the biggest of the FM stations and towering over 2Day FM who dropped 0.1 points to a 4.1 percent share. This is despite a big marketing push to regain the remarkable amount of ground they lost to KIIS (who now also lead the FM stations in drivetime) last survey.
Triple j gained 0.7 points to a 5.9 percent, as it claws back loses from the last period. Gains came in the 18-24 demographic, where they have a 19.4 share, behind Nova's 21.6 percent. Triple j's weekend wasn't as pretty, with a 1.1 point drop to 5.4 percent.
2GB lead the market with a 14.3 weekday share, up 0.7 points.
ABC 774 is the new market leader, with a 1.2 point jump (coming from across the weekday slots) giving them a 12.1 percent share, ahead of 3AW's 11.9 percent.
FOX FM has a sharp weekday decline, down 1.1 points to 7.5 percent and putting it back in the pack with the likes of Nova 100 (7.5 percent), Mix 101.1 (7 percent) and Triple M (6.7 percent).
Triple j's weekday share is down to 5.4 percent – largely due to a 1.1 point drop in the evenings, which is now down to a 3.9 percent share. They lost ground across all demographics, and on weekends.
Notoriously tight, Nova take the win with a 0.8 point increase to a 12.9 percent weekday share – 97.3FM dropping 0.8 points to 12.5 percent.
Triple M lose the ground they gained in the first survey period with a 1.8 point drop to 8.6 percent share.
Triple j continue to fall on weekdays, they dropped two points last survey and 0.6 this count to hold a 8.2 percent share. Their booming weekend popularity comes back to earth with a 3.6 point drop to 7.9 percent.
In the market where triple j scored its first ever overall win last year, they're getting close to repeating the feat. A 1.7 point jump gives them an impressive 13.3 percent hare, behind only Mix 94.5 who drop 0.6 to 14.6 percent. Triple j have commanding leads in the 18-24 and 25-39 demographics as Perth remains their strongest market by a mile.
Their pick-up came from a number of other stations, with 92.9, Nova and 96FM all posting weekday declines. The only other real gainer was 6PR, who added 1.4 points to hold a 7.7 percent share.
Although the race tightened in the first survey period, Mix 102.3 pull out a lead again with a 1.8 point gain to a 15.8 percent share. Some of that came from resurgent breakfast figures, which gained 2.1 points to 15.6 percent, behind ABC 891's 17.4 percent breakfast share.
Triple j gain 1 point to a 6.8 percent share as they captured 18.3 percent of the 25-39 demographic.
