Triple J Disqualify Taylor Swift From Hottest 100

#NoTay4Hottest100

The message was loud and clear ahead of triple j's Hottest 100 countdown today: NO TAYLOR SWIFT.

Announcer Lewis McKirdy very quickly brought a halt to any more questions about where US pop juggernaut Swift would place in the annual public-voted top 100.

"Taylor Swift," McKirdy stated, in reference to the social media campaign to place the artist at the top of this year's Hottest 100, "That's what I'm talking about. Is she in the list?"

Listeners were then treated to a blast of a game show-style buzzer — y'know the kind that indicates a wrong answer being given.

McKirdy continued, "That abrasive noise would suggest not. She's out for a whole range of reasons. All of them are at a website we've set up."

That website named triplejfeed — a dig at the Buzzfeed site where much of the campaign to get Tay into the Hottest 100 was waged — proceeded to crash under the weight of traffic almost immediately.
