Tony Abbott & George Pell 'The Happy Ending' Mural Vandalised

Only hours after it was completed.

The mural of former Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Cardinal George Pell, titled The Happy Ending, was vandalised last night, just hours after its completion.

The mural, which is housed behind Newtown's Botany View Hotel, was painted by artist Scott Marsh who is known for his previous works like Tony Loves Tony, which depicted Abbott as both a bride and groom, and his portrait of Neil Degrasse Tyson.

As reported by The Huffington Post Australia, a representative of the Botany View Hotel has said that they believe the incident happened overnight.

"I came in this morning and it was like that," said the unidentified witness. "I don't think anyone saw anything."
