"The rock genre, and music in general, is male dominated for no good reason at all."
Sydney pop punks Tonight Alive have announced plans to head home this year for their first Aussie headline run in nearly two years.
The tour will hat-tip all the intimate venues around Australia that gave the five-piece their start, giving punters a rare chance to catch the band in tiny rooms, as opposed to the arenas they last played with A Day To Remember.
The band have also announced an awesome contest to shine light on the many rock bands with females in them or are female-led, with the band stating, "We have toured with plenty of awesome bands around the world, and we’ve noticed more bands have female members and the number of women getting involved is growing too!
"The rock genre, and music in general, is male dominated for no good reason at all. Women are awesome and we want to celebrate that. So for this tour we want to know who the best rock bands in Australia with female members are. We're running a competition in each city to find new and exciting bands to open our shows."
