More Tomorrowland More Tomorrowland

Belgium’s Tomorrowland Festival will go ahead this weekend after a devastating blaze brought down its main stage. In surprising news, the festival organisers have already had an alternative main stage built, and the show will proceed as planned.

Earlier this week, a fire broke out less than 48 hours before more than 70,000 punters were due to arrive at the Boom, Belgium festival site, destroying the main stage. At the time, approximately 1,000 employees were on-site; fortunately, no injuries were reported. It did, however, make supporters wonder if Tomorrowland could go ahead this year.

Taking to Instagram on Friday (18 July), festival organisers confirmed the event would go ahead with a new, custom-built main stage just a few hours before a charge of fans would step onto festival grounds.

The new stage, built against the backdrop of the severely damaged main stage, features a smaller DJ booth and a large screen. Check out a photo of the custom-built new stage below.

“Dear People of Tomorrow, WE ARE READY FOR YOU,” organisers shared on social media.

“Our teams are working day and night, with heart and soul, to turn the impossible into reality: Tomorrowland Belgium 2025 will open doors at 14:00. An alternative setup for the beloved Mainstage is planned to open at 16:00, pending any last-minute changes. All artists will perform as scheduled on all other stages as from 14:00.

In addition to the newly built main stage, Tomorrowland is home to another 14 stages. However, they are considerably smaller than the main stage. Weekend one of this year’s festival in Belgium is happening now (18-20 July) and returns next weekend (25-27 July) for weekend two.

Acts including Anyma, Charlotte de Witte, Armin van Buuren, Darren Styles and many others will perform at this year’s Tomorrowland festival.

Tomorrowland festival is one of the largest and most iconic music festivals in the world, renowned for its elaborate stage designs, impressive line-ups, and immersive atmosphere. In 2023, Tomorrowland was voted the World’s No. 1 Festival in the DJ Mag Top 100 Festivals poll. In 2024, the festival celebrated its 20th anniversary.
