Tommy Ramone passes away, age 65

Tommy Ramone, the drummer, co-founding and the last remaining original member of the Ramones, sadly passed away on Friday at the age of 65. 

Tommy Ramone, drummer, co-founding and last remaining original member of the Ramones, sadly passed away on Friday at the age of 65. 


Ramone was reportedly in hospice care following his most recent battle with bile duct cancer.


Tommy Ramone, who was born Erdelyi Tamas, co-founded the iconic band in 1974 with singer Joey Ramone (Jeffrey Hyman) and bassist Dee Dee Ramone (Douglas Colvin). He performed on some of their classic albums, such as the band's self-titled release and 'Leave Home', as well as co-producing 'Road To Ruin' and the bands double live album, 'It's Alive'.
