Tommy Emmanuel CGP, the king of the acoustic guitar, is coming home.
Declared a Certified Guitar Player by Chet Atkins, Emmanuel has enjoyed a phenomenal career that has earned him critical acclaim and appreciation from his peers worldwide.
Announcing an Australian tour for 2025, the Grammy and ARIA Award-winning musician will celebrate his 70th birthday on his homecoming tour.
Performing in some of Australia’s most prestigious live music venues, Emmanuel will bring his music (and covers) to venues including the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne’s Hamer Hall, Perth’s Riverside Theatre, Adelaide’s Her Majesty’s Theatre (on the day of his 70th birthday), and other spaces in May 2025.
Emmanuel said of his return to Australia, “Playing and touring back home is like a family reunion! Australia is where I was raised; the rest of the world was what I had my sights on. Now, I love coming home and seeing my country through the eyes of a grateful man.”
He continued, “I've always been a citizen of the world, a curious observer and a time traveller... it's a joy to have the chance to come home to play my music and see if I can make you smile a little!”
