Tom Delonge will be releasing a children’s book called 'The Lonely Astronaut' on Christmas Eve. The book, written by DeLonge and illustrated by Mike Henry [co-founder at Big Menace Industries, Art Director at Booyah in San Francisco, CA], follows a rocketeer spending a cold Christmas alone on the moon who is visited by extraterrestrial life.

It will be available for presale on Monday, November 25 at Angels & Airwaves’ official website. The 'Lonely Astronaut Christmas Package' is limited to the first 1,000 customers and at a cost of $50 recipients can expect a hardcover, first edition of the book, including a certificate of authenticity signed by DeLonge, one digital version of the book for iPad, Nook or Kindle, a 'Lonely Astronaut' ornament, and a limited-edition t-shirt.

A charity auction for the Rady Children’s Hospital Foundation will begin on November 25 through CharityBuzz.com in which fans can bid on a package that includes: The complete 22 pages of signed original art from the book, a DeLonge signed guitar, and a meet and greet with DeLonge in his San Diego studio (travel/hotel not included, alternate plans can be arranged for those unable to travel to San Diego).
