New footage clearly shows point of contact

More Tim McGraw More Tim McGraw

US country-music legend and Mr Faith Hill Tim McGraw has come under fire over the past day following the surfacing of video online that appears to depict him slapping a female fan for attempting to grab his crotch.

In the footage, which was shot during the Grammy Award winner's show at Aaron's Amphitheatre at Lakewood, in Atlanta, last weekend and released by TMZ, McGraw can be seen swiping at the woman in question before she is promptly hauled off by security.

Although there was some early debate online over whether or not McGraw had actually made five-finger face contact with the fan or merely "swatted at" her to discourage the unwelcome touching, TMZ has since released additional footage from another angle that shows McGraw does indeed slap the fan.

Below is the original video — it's worth skipping to about the 45-second mark, unless you want to watch 44 seconds of really loud shrieking with occasional Tim McGraw in between:

And the closer footage, which clearly shows McGraw making contact and actually kind of makes it look like the fan was really more interested in his thigh, or at least had terrible aim:

Either way, it doesn't look like it ended on that fun a note for either party.

This latest altercation comes among a slew of recent incidents in which musicians have been the target of — or spoken out against — unsolicited, unnecessary physical contact.

Last month, the ladies of Tigers Jaw and Pity Sex spoke out after a fan rushed on-stage and kissed one, and attempted to kiss the other, which itself followed incidents involving bands and artists such as Iggy Azalea, Staind, and The Story So Far.
