The whole band are coming.
He redefined modern music as the co-founder of iconic '80s band Sonic Youth and now, to coincide with his appearance at this year's Meredith Music Festival, Thurston Moore will return to Australia this December for an east coast tour along with his full band.
The gang head to the country in support of Moore's 2014 solo album The Best Day, which he recorded with guitarist James Sedwards, ex-My Bloody Valentine bassist Debbie Googe and Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley who will all make the trip down for the shows.
Fans can expect to hear tracks from the latest record, as well as golden oldies and fan-favourite Sonic Youth tunes, not to mention it will mark the first time that Moore and Shelley share the stage together since the New York-founded act's final Daydream tour back in 2007.
Kicking off the tour with a show in Auckland on Thursday 3 December, the Thurston Moore Band will then head to Sydney's Metro Theatre on Saturday 5 December, before performing at the Old Museum in Brisbane on Monday 7 December and finally at Melbourne's Prince Bandroom on Thursday 10 December.
