ThundamentalsBlue Mountains-bred hip hop ensemble Thundamentals have announced that they will be setting off on a wide-ranging jaunt around the country from this March for their Elephant In The Room national tour.
Still riding high on the momentum afforded them by their broadly acclaimed LP So We Can Remember — the only Aussie album last year to nab nominations for a J Award, a Carlton Dry Independent Music Award, an ARIA Award, an FBi SMAC Award and the $30,000 Australian Music Prize — Thundamentals will be kicking off their national journey with a show at Sydney's Manning Bar on Thursday, 5 March. From there, they head to Katoomba, Wollongong, Newcastle, Brisbane, Bendigo, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Bunbury and Cairns, and wrap things up with a performance on Magnetic Island, off the coast of Townsville.
The sizeable sojourn comes after a plus-size 2014 for the Thundamentals crew, which saw them grace festival stages at Falls and Groovin The Moo, as well as undertake their biggest sold-out headline tour to date and hit the road with fellow scene veterans the Hilltop Hoods, leading to a hip hop all-star showing at Sydney's Domain recently for triple j's Beat The Drum birthday celebrations, where they and the Hoods were joined by the likes of Illy, Horrorshow, Drapht, Seth Sentry and Tkay Maidza.
