Thornhill ProfileThornhill have curated an epic festival line-up of heavy hitters for February 2027, inviting fans to enjoy Surf’s Up in Melbourne.
The event follows the massive success of the first-ever artist-curated heavy music bill that was held at St Kilda’s Riviera Beach Club earlier this year, headlined and programmed by Polaris under the title Life’s A Beach.
Now, Destroy All Lines have introduced a second instalment of the festival, this time headlined and curated by Melbourne’s own Thornhill. Taking place on Saturday, 20 February, Surf’s Up will host waves of popular local and international bands.
The line-up includes Sydney pop-punk outfit Stand Atlantic; Australian metalcore bands Alpha Wolf and Justice for the Damned; American experimental duo sace6 and heavy group Varials; plus Brisbane nu-metal quartet Headwreck, Sydney melodic hardcore group Bloom, and Adelaide alt-rockers Blinder.
“We’re bringing SURF’S UP! Festival to life,” Thornhill said. “Personally curated by the four of us, we are stoked to be joined by some of the best names in Australian heavy music. Expect big riffs, good times and a whole lot of energy. Melbourne, we’ll see you in February!”

The Riviera Beach Club is an entertainment hub that’s hosted some of Melbourne’s most in-demand electronic music events, but after this year’s Life’s A Beach festival, Destroy All Lines have made a statement with heavy music on that same site.
Fans will have the opportunity to soak in breakdowns, riffs and screams with a side of beachside views, sunshine, and chaos only summer can bring.
Last year, Thornhill released their third album, BODIES, which landed at #4 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
The record won the ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album and the AIR Award for Best Independent Heavy Album or EP. It was also nominated for Australian Album of the Year at the J Awards, and Most Performed Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Work at the APRA Music Awards.
This year, Thornhill embarked on their biggest-ever headline run of shows, completely selling out their BODIES Australian tour.
