Thom Yorke + Flea supergroup?

Continuing the recent run of rock supergroups, Thom Yorke (Radiohead) has announced that he will be joining musical forces with Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers).

Continuing the recent run of rock supergroups, Thom Yorke (Radiohead) has announced that he will be joining musical forces with Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) to perform some of Yorke's solo material.

Posting on Radiohead's blog, Yorke told of his new project, which also includes Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker (of Beck and R.E.M. fame) and Mauro Refosco

Yorke writes:

"In the past couple of weeks i've been getting a band together for fun to play the Eraser stuff live and the new songs etc.. to see if it could work!

We don't really have a name and the set will not be very long cuz ..well ...we haven't got that much material yet!"

The as-yet-unnamed band has shows scheduled for October 4 and 5 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. Yorke has contributed to the soundtrack for the upcoming "Twilight" sequel, and is most likely anticipating an exponential increase in tweenage girls attending future Radiohead gigs.
