Yep. That time of the week again. Here's some of the albums out this week:
Unknown Mortal Orchestra – II (Jagjaguwar/Inertia)
The new psychedelic slab from ex-Mint Chicks maestro Ruban Neilson is a more cautious but nonetheless compelling exploration of their trademark sound. We also got Neilson's thoughts on his sophomore effort back in December '12.
Jim James – Regions of Light and Sound of God (Spunk/V2/Cooperative)
This transcendent curveball from the My Morning Jacket mastermind is going to take a lot of his main band's fans by surprise. No biggie, because it's a great record in its own right. We also had a chat with the man himself about this new direction.
Delphic – Collections (Chimeric/Cooperative)
The Mancunian electronica trio return with a new album that is a bit heavier on the pop melodies and RnB hooks.
Civil Civic – Rules (Remote Control)
We're streaming the new record from this Aussie ex-pat duo who met overseas and lay down techy, complex electronica that's still a whole lotta fun. We shot the shit with bassist and noisenik Ben Green about what makes these guys tick.
