New music from Wiz Khalifa, Blur, New Gods, Memory Tapes, Ke$ha and Willy Mason

Time for our regular Thursday release ritual! Here are some of the new albums that are edging in before the year's out:

Wiz Khalifa – O.N.I.F.C (Atlantic US)

While blessed with early success, can Wiz get an album to stick with the critics and the charts and back up his first-class proclamations? Read our thoughts on his latest outing here.

New Gods – New Gods [EP]
(Liberation)

An EP's worth of moving and evocative pop from this new group, boasting a veteran lineup that includes members of Little Red, Eagle & The Worm and Ground Components. You can stream the release in full here.

Memory Tapes – Grace/Confusion (Pod/Inertia)

Mr. Memory Tapes, Dayve Hawk, drops his latest chillwave full-length. As one of those that popularized the genre with 2009's Seek Magic, is he bringing anything new to the table with this third outing? Read our thoughts here (note: Grace/Confusion drops on Tuesday 4 December).

Willy Mason – Carry On (Polydor)

Rustic, unhurried tunes and poignant lyrics pervade this third outing from the American singer-songwriter. You can read our review here.

Blur – Parklive [Live] (Capitol/EMI)

Blur crank out the hits for the past British summer at Hyde Park in London. We've got a review up for this one.

No Anchor – The Golden Bridge (Independent)

This Aussie trio cribbed notes from Spinal Tap's 'Big Bottom', skipping guitars and instead deploying two massively distorted basses to support their brutal lowdown hardcore. This is no gimmick; they back up the huge low-end with real sonic experimentation and killer songs. Read our review.
