Peter Garrett — A Version Of Now (Sony)
In Garrett's first solo foray, he keeps the "dense imagery" strong in songs like Tall Trees, Kangaroo Tail and Homecoming, while Great White Shark shows "Garrett's environmental empathy still runs rampant". The "considered rock backing [is] less powerful" than his alma mater but A Version Of Now showcases "you can address the necessity for change and contemplation while remaining completely comfortable in your own skin". We gave it four stars and Album Of The Week.
Stonefield — As Above, So Below (Wunderkind)
This sibling quarter have "[surpassed] all preconceived notions of the sonic terrain these rockin' sisters can effortlessly traverse". Highlights include Changes ("Hannah Findlay, we satanic-salute your supreme guitar mastery"), Midnight and Lonely, with many "killer riffs and headbanging opps". Stonefield's "added worldliness [will] propel them global in no time". We gave it three-and-a-half stars.

Jack & Amanda Palmer — You Got Me Singing (Cooking Vinyl)
Recorded with her father, the Palmers offer a "low-pitched, slightly eerie duet style" throughout the album, covering songs from Leonard Cohen, Sinead O'Connor, The Magnetic Fields and Kimya Dawson. It "kicks you like the best old school, earnest country-folk should", great for some "mellow, late night listening". We gave it three stars.
