Fresh Finds: Class Of 2025 – Aussie Acts To Add To Your Playlist

This Week's Releases

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Push The Sky Away (Bad Seed Ltd/Kobalt Label Services)

Cave shows his gently introspective side on this latest effort, made in the wake of Grinderman and the loss of long-time Bad Seeds guitarist Mick Harvey. Still, Push The Sky Away is just as good as we've come to expect from one of Australia's finest. We had a chat with the man himself earlier, catching him in a reflective mood.

Spencer P Jones & Kim SalmonRunaways (Independent)

This album from the Beasts of Bourbon bandmates is never short on the rock. Bluesy, fuzzy and stripped back.

Mark Romboy & Ken Ishii – Taiyo (Systemic/Balance/EMI)

We've got a couple of reviews up for this album of forward-thinking Detroit-style techno from this duo of electronic veterans.

Iceage You're Nothing (Matador/Remote Control)

This ferocious Danish band have throw down an exhilarating slab of noisy post-punk that does everything right. You can listen to the single 'Collision' here.

Apparat – Kreig Und Freiden (Music For Theatre) (Mute/EMI)

The German IDM artist turns in a new record, built largely off pulsing, droning soundscapes and a classic string section. We've got a review up.

Jamie Lidell – Jamie Lidell (Warp/Inertia)

Lidell digs deep into analogue funk for his latest album that his latest album, which 'teases up its hair, squeezes into an electric blue leather suit and busts an early '80s funk that would have Rick James spinning on his crack pipe.' Wow.
