This Week's Releases

Festival fever takes over record stores across the country tomorrow as a few artists who have recently announced appearances on festival bills release new or repackaged material.

First up, Bat For Lashes returns with The Haunted Man, straight after news of her coming back to Australia to play the 2013 Laneway Festival. Read our review here.

Ben Harper is going to be here for some shows real soon and then returns to play Bluesfest again next Easter. If you're not familiar with his work, he's got his first career-spanning best-of By My Side out through EMI tomorrow.

Smokey's Haunt is the latest release from Urthboy, who backs up its release with an appearance at the Pyramid Rock festival at the end of the year. It's out tomorrow through Elefant Tracks/Inertia; read what we reckon of the new album here.

Relative unknown in Australia right now, Dark Dark Dark will be looking to boost their popularity over here with a performance at the Harvest Festival next month. Their new record Who Needs Who is out through Clementine/Sony tomorrow.

Future Music Festival yesterday announced they would be bringing Boys Noize back to Australia early next year; he's dropping his Out of The Black record tomorrow through Pod/Inertia. Read what we had to say right here.

Also on Future is the delightful Ellie Goulding, this British super-chanteuse has big things ahead of her and Australian audiences are bound to go nuts for Halcyon, which is out through Universal tomorrow.
