The Goon Sax — Up To Anything (Chapter Music)
Young Brisbanites The Goon Sax have dropped a "less glossy, less than perfect sound and one that's a bit sunny, sprawling and suburban" album in their debut effort. It's "neat, full of moody guitar noodles, pared back", talking about seemingly mundane topics as Home Haircuts and telephones. But it's "these little oft-forgotten insights that lend this debut bag loads of vulnerable charm and affability". We gave it four stars and Album Of The Week.
Killswitch Engage — Incarnate (Roadrunner/Warner)
This record doesn't adhere to the "blueprint" of "Jesse Leach-fronted 2002 landmark Alive Or Just Breathing", but it "possesses all the smoothness of a well calibrated sports car". There are "anthemic hooks (although not with the same consistency as its predecessor)" and "impeccable production", but all up maybe is "a tad too familiar". We gave it three stars.

Matt Corby — Telluric (Mercury/Universal)
With Telluric meaning "a harmonious, categorical or connective belonging to the Earth", the word captures the album perfectly. The songs "tessellate wonderfully" and are soulful but a bit dirty too. There's no poor song on the record, but Wrong Man boasts "huge open chords and a booming melody". Our reviewer concludes "it really is a special record". We gave it four stars.
