DZ Deathrays - Black Rat (I Oh You/Liberation)
Brisbane's favourite thrash pop duo are back with their second full-length album, Black Rat. According to The Music's Tom Hersey, "things are getting tighter and the pair are writing better songs" so it sounds like a prime-time to jump on the DZ Deathrays bandwagon if you haven't already.
The Hold Steady - Teeth Dreams (Razor & Tie/Sony)
American five-piece rock band The Hold Steady have returned with their sixth studio album which is due to be released this tomorrow. It's their "best album in quite some time", according to reviewer Steve Bell, and they've definitely ventured back to the style of their earliest releases.
Tune-Yards - Nikki Nack (4AD/Remote Control)
Tune-Yards (aka Merrill Garbus) will release the latest edition to her music project tomorrow with Nikki Nack; an album which enlisted help from the producers of Alicia Keys and Shakira. The Music's Brendan Telford approves of Garbus' "primal, swelling and vibrant" voice.
In Hearts Wake - Earthwalker (UNFD)
The brand new sounds of Aussie metal band In Hearts Wake will be heard this Friday when Earthwalker is revealed with a release show in Byron Bay. "The band has raised their game across the board" says reviewer Benny Doyle of the album so it's definitely one not to miss.
