"Unfortunately COVID is still trolling everyone hard."

The annual THIS THAT festival has been once again pushed back due to the ongoing pandemic shutdowns and border closes and is now due to take place early 2022.

The event, which showcases two massive days of live music in Queensland and New South Wales, was originally slated for this October/November, but will now kick off from Saturday, 22 February.

"The THIS THAT team had every intention of bringing the festival to Queensland and New South Wales this year," organisers explained of the setbacks. "Unfortunately, COVID is still trolling everyone hard and thanks (but no thanks) to Delta, THIS THAT is moving dates once again. The good news is that there is so much dancing and partying to look forward to, so this ultimate summer sesh is absolutely going to be worth the wait."

They added, "THIS THAT organisers want to thank everyone for sticking with the festival through all of these changes and holding onto tickets to support live music. All tickets purchased for the 2020 and 2021 event dates are automatically valid for 2022. For those who can’t join the party in February and March, a one-week refund window via Oztix is open now for Newcastle and the Sandstone Point refund window opens next week."

The Newcastle leg of the festival is set to feature acts including Client Liason, Wafia, The Chats, Jack River and many more. Sandstone Point's lineup is slated for confirmation next Wednesday, 29 September.
