Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster

The late Sharon Jones was bold, loud and energetic, so it’s not surprising a music video that was in production at the time of the iconic soul singer’s untimely passing is powerful and emotional.

The music legend lost her battle with pancreatic cancer last month, and following an overwhelming amount of merchandise orders, funk and soul independent record label Daptone Records has released a stunning claymation music video for Please Come Home For Christmas, taken from Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings’ 2015 Christmas album, It's A Holiday Soul Party.

The 3,200 photo stop-motion endeavour took 600 hours across three months to make and was written, produced and directed by Alex Howard and David Drew Hatter, who surprisingly used an iPhone 6 for the project.

The music video release coincides with Netflix picking up Miss Sharon Jones!, which will be available from Jan 7 and follows her battle with cancer and return to music.
