'It can inspire the next generation of artists and venues to keep feeding the Victorian music landscape.'
Music Victoria have taken the next step in ensuring the future of Victoria's live music scene with the announcement of the Live Music Professionals program.
The newly-announced initiative will help successful applicants build sustainable live music businesses by matching them with some of the state's most experienced music industry professionals.
"Music Victoria is very excited about delivering this program," Music Victoria CEO, Patrick Donovan, said.
"The program is specifically targeted at the needs of the Victorian live music sector and will up-skill the next generation of leading promoters and venue operators to ensure the Victorian live music sector continues to grow and prosper."

As well as participating in one-on-one coaching sessions, applicants will also attend specialised workshops and annual industry conference, Face The Music.
Shaun Adams of Ballarat's Karova Lounge said of the program, "Having spent most of my life working and supporting the music industry in regional areas, I would have only dreamed for a program like this to exist when I first started.
"It's amazing to have opportunities like this to exist outside the metro regions and hopefully it can inspire the next generation of artists and venues to keep feeding the Victorian music landscape."
Owners, bookers, managers and independent promoters are encouraged to apply for the Live Music Professionals program before entries close on 31 March.
