Popular radio program/podcast to screen live show in Australia.

Long running Chicago-based radio program and, more recently, hugely successful Podcast This American Life has established a huge following in Australia over the past few years. So it makes sense that they are letting Australian audiences get in on the action when they present a special live screening of the program throughout cinemas this month. In American the show is being beamed live to select cinemas as the show happens on Thursday 10 May, but Aussie will have to wait a little longer to witness it, with the screenings over here taking place on Saturday 26 May and Sunday 27.

As well as stories by its host Ira Glass, incredibly popular writers David Sedaris and David Rakoff, comic Tig Notaro and Snap Judgment host Glynn Washington, there will also be an interactive live music performance by OK Go, with audiences at the taping able to control elements of the performance through their mobile phones.

As well as this, the program are taking the opportunity to use the visual medium in order to show things that simply don't work on radio, like showing a new short film by Mike Birbiglia, dance by Monica Bill Barnes & Company, plus original animation, projected illustration and more, including a few surprise guests.

The show screens in the following theatres:
