Last weekend we sent a bunch of writers to Byron Bay's Belongil Fields to get drunk, get muddy and watch a shitload of bands as a part of Splendour In The Grass. They did all three and they told us all about it.

Following Splendour, the cops decided they weren't all that happy with the way people were behaving, particularly the whole trying to smuggle drugs in thing.

Homebake picked up where Splendour left off, announcing a big list of bands, one of whom is not even from around here?

This morning we woke up to the news that Blink-182 had finally agreed to come back to Australia for the first time in almost nine years, playing the Soundwave festival next year.

On a completely different level was the announcement of the innovative music event Sound Summit's first list of bands in 2012. Plenty of great stuff. 

The Melbourne Festival announced their massive line up this week, with a little something for pretty much everyone.

A couple of horribly sad pieces of news were announced this week as well, the deaths of No Use For A Name frontman Tony Sly and the Olivia Tremor Control's Bill Doss the two most shocking.

For some people, the signing of The Janoskians was pretty damn horrible as well, while others were worried to hear Bloc Party might not be with us for much longer.
