Melbourne punk rockers These New South Whales are hitting the road from March through to May, taking their new album GODSPEED to almost every corner of the country.

The tour begins with a celebration of Pirate Life Brewery’s Eleventh Birthday in Port Adelaide on Saturday, 28 February.

From there, the band will perform in Maroochydore, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Scarborough, Bunbury, Margaret River, Launceston, Hobart, Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Sydney, Wollongong, Geelong, Castlemaine, Frankston, and conclude in the band’s hometown of Melbourne on Saturday, 16 May. You can find the complete list of dates and venues below.

Pre-sale tickets are now available via the band’s Discord, Patreon, and Bandsintown, followed by the general sale, which opens at 11 am AEDT today via the band’s website.

These New South Whales’ latest album, released in November, reached #4 on the ARIA Australian Album Charts and #9 on the ARIA Vinyl Charts. Produced by Ben Greenberg (Depeche Mode, Drab Majesty, Show Me The Body), GODSPEED finds the band defiant against expectations and in their personal and political expressions.

The follow-up to their ARIA and AIR Award-nominated album TNSW, GODSPEED is not about “surrendering to the chaos anymore - it’s about cutting through it.” It’s an album with full clarity, rejecting outside voices and embracing instinct and a little bit of recklessness. Vocalist Jamie Timony lays out the album’s mission statement almost immediately when he commands, “The choice is yours / Godspeed.”

In a recent interview with The Music, Timony said of the new album, “GODSPEED is about reclaiming, taking ownership of your own sense of agency and freedom, communicating that you're the expert in your life, you're the one with the keys, don't let anyone push you around or tell you what to think or what to do. Do it yourself and do it well.”

Guitarist Todd Andrews added, “Some of the album is the heaviest music we’ve made, but then there's other songs that are the most beautiful music we've written.”

Last year, the band embarked on a live podcast tour celebrating 500 episodes of their cult series, What A Great Punk - These New South Whales. “For now, it’s goodbye to our beloved podcast,” the band stated. “It’s been a wild and wonderful ride. But only two things are true in life: All good things must come to an end, and you gotta pay your taxes.”
