An original artwork by Kamilaroi global superstar The Kid LAROI has been put up for auction in Sydney. The aerosol piece was completed on a fire door, and features a smiley face with a definite Spongebob Squarepants influence.

An original artwork by Kamilaroi global superstar The Kid LAROI has been put up for auction in Sydney. 

An aerosol work, using a fire door for a canvas, the unique listing by Lawsons Auctioneers is thought to have been completed by The Kid LAROI while he was living in Camperdown. 

The authenticated listing offers the following detail "The Kid Laroi resided in one of Camperdown's premium terrace houses by the park from March to August 2019. He was 16 years old and on the verge of breaking into the USA Hip Hop scene." 

The work itself depicts a smiley face with a definite Spongebob Squarepants influence, and a big 'LAROI' artist tag. 

Anyone interested in owning the piece can lodge a pre-bid now via the fine arts auctioneers at Lawson's. The piece is estimated to go for $2000 - $3000.

A national icon in his own right, The Kid LAROI made global news for appearing with The Wiggles at the second of two Melbourne shows of his End Of The World tour.  

Aussie music legends The Wiggles joined the Kamilaroi artist on stage as his special guest. To fans' surprise, as he wrapped up his set, he stated, “Keep the house lights up. This next guest is The f***ing Wiggles.”

He welcomed Anthony Field, Jeff Fatt, Greg Page, John Pearce and Tsehay Hawkins as they ran onstage alongside Henry The Octopus. They went on to perform Toot, Toot, Chugga Chugga, Big Red Car, Hot Potato and Fruit Salad.

The Kid LAROI claimed the coveted Songwriter Of The Year title at the 2022 APRA's alongside the Peer-Voted APRA Song Of The Year gong for Justin Bieber collab STAY as well as Most Performed Hip Hop/Rap Work for Without You.
