The Wombats Announce Splendour In The Grass Sideshows

The UK indie darlings will perform four headline shows this July

More The Wombats The Wombats

English indie-pop darlings The Wombats have announced a string of headline sideshows to complement their performance at July's Splendour In The Grass festival, with a gig each scheduled for Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

The band, who recently released third full-length Glitterbug to broad acclaim, will get their standalone sojourn under way at Perth's Metro City on Thursday, July 23, after which they'll be joined by fellow Liverpudlians Circa Waves for their remaining gigs in Sydney (Enmore Theatre, Monday, 27 July), Melbourne (Palais Theatre, Tuesday, 28 July) and Adelaide (Thebarton Theatre, Thursday, 30 July).

The Wombats were last in Australia only a matter of months ago, when they played a pair of shows Down Under in support of Glitterbug's release, including a "surreal" performance at The Island, off Sydney. The album's first single, Your Body Is A Weapon, was actually released way back in 2013, before the album was anywhere close to a reality, and has since been followed up by January's Greek Tragedy and Give Me A Try.

Tickets for The Wombats' Splendour In The Grass sideshows, which are proudly presented by The Music, will go on sale from 10am local time on Wednesday, 29 April. There will be an exclusive pre-sale for Secret Sounds members from 10am the day before, on Tuesday, 28 April.
