"New collab in the wind?"
The Wiggles have come under fire recently after posting a picture to Instagram with pop-superstar Lil Nas X.
In a seemingly innocent picture, Lil Nas X can be seen holding a purple trademark Wiggles shirt while posing with the rest of the group after their respective sets at Falls Festival over the New Year's Eve weekend. In the caption, The Wiggles quoted, "New collab in the wind?"
Immediately, comments flooded the post, mostly from parents who explicitly shared their disapproval about The Wiggles associating with Lil Nas X. Many believe him to be an 'X Rated artist' that isn't suitable for children and therefore find the new friendship at odds with The Wiggles values.
One person commented, "Such a shame, my daughter loved the Wiggles. I don't see how someone who lap dances the devil in their music videos is a good candidate for working in the children's music industry."
Another chimed in, saying, "Really? Children do not need any more exposure to the satanic darkness of this world."

Other fans were more into the proposed collaboration, commenting, "100% support this can't wait to take the little one if lil nas comes to Melbourne."
While a second person said, "Lots of people commenting obviously don’t understand art & have horribly closed minds. I hope this post stays up forever & there IS a collab.
Lil Nas X was previously criticised by some right-wing commentators for his use of biblical imagery in the music video for his 202 hit Montero (Call Me By You Name), where he slides into Hell on a stripper pole and gives the devil a lap dance.
The rapper was quick to snap back, saying, “I am an adult. i am not gonna spend my entire career trying to cater to your children. that is your job."
The Wiggles have yet to comment on the controversy.
It seems to be a very eventful weekend at Fall Festival for The Wiggles, as they also snapped a picture with an old fan-turned-rockstar.
Posting to Instagram on Tuesday (Jan 3), the Fruit Salad singers wrote: "How cool is this?! One of the very first Wiggles shows in 1991 was held at a Sydney preschool, back when Murray and Anthony were early childhood educators.
"And in attendance that day was a very young Mason from DMAs!
"Fast forward 32 years and everyone reunites after sharing the stage at Falls Festival."
In the top image from 1991, you can see Murray and Anthony posing for a photo with three young boys, one of them being Matt Mason from the incredibly popular band DMA'S.
The Wiggles and Mason recreated the picture backstage at Falls Festival, celebrating their incredible careers and the fact that they share the same stage 32 years later.
