On Saturday (7 September), The Weeknd unveiled his epic tour production for the first time to over 70,000 fans as he performed for one night only at Estádio MorumBI in São Paulo, Brazil. The groundbreaking concert was also live-streamed on YouTube—you can rewatch it until Saturday, 14 September.
As part of the production, 150 drones appeared in the sky at the show’s conclusion. The drones spelled out the name of The Weeknd’s highly anticipated forthcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, the endpoint to the star’s latest trilogy of albums alongside 2022’s Dawn FM and 2020’s After Hours.
In addition to debuting a huge new production, the Blinding Lights singer performed unreleased songs along with his many classics. Billboard has come up with some potential titles for the new songs, as The Weeknd didn’t name tracks before performing them, which may be Dancing in The Flames, Run Away, and In Heaven.
You can watch the performance below.
According to a press release, Hurry Up Tomorrow “represents the creative apex of the project, serving as the third and final chapter crafted with existential and self-referential themes as seen with the latest visionary teasers that have set fans ablaze with anticipation for this concluding instalment.”
Yesterday (8 September), The Weeknd shared the striking cover art for Hurry Up Tomorrow, which you can pre-order on vinyl and CD here. At the time of writing, no release date has been revealed.
