The Vandastruts Lock In Thirroul Show As Part Of Live Nation's 'Next On' Series

"We’re stoked to be chosen for NEXT ON. Having that support behind us means a lot and gives us the chance to put on a show we’re really excited about," The Vandastruts said.

Wollongong five-piece The Vandastruts are celebrating their upcoming EP close to home, having been locked in as the next performers for Live Nation’s Next On series.

They’ll showcase their new EP, What Are the Odds, with an all-ages show at Anita’s Theatre King’s Room in Thirroul on Friday, 11 December – the same day the EP drops.

The Vandastruts have made a name for themselves by consistently touring and sharing the stage with Kingswood, Thirsty Merc, Little Birdy, and The Southern River Band, and by supporting Jon Stevens on nearly 30 national tour dates earlier this year.

For their hometown show, fans can expect gritty guitars, powerhouse vocals, and thunderous drums, while five lifelong mates display their friendship and shared love of rock ‘n’ roll on stage.

Tickets are $20 with no ticketing fees and are available now via Moshtix.

Discussing their upcoming show and being represented by Live Nation’s Next On series, the band said, “We’re stoked to be chosen for NEXT ON. Having that support behind us means a lot and gives us the chance to put on a show we’re really excited about.

“Getting to celebrate our new EP, What Are The Odds, at Anita’s Theatre, close to home, makes it even better. We can’t wait to play the new songs live and have a big night with everyone.”

Launched late last year, Next On is an initiative that supports emerging artists by providing access to venues, production, and marketing support. Artists also retain all ticket and merch revenue from the shows.

Venues involved in the initiative include Melbourne’s Palais Theatre; Brisbane’s The Triffid and The Outpost at Fortitude Music Hall; Thirroul’s Anita’s Theatre – King’s Room; Adelaide’s Divide at Hindley Street Music Hall; and Auckland's Tuning Fork, New Zealand.

The program's first batch of artists was announced in February, with indie rock band Peach Fuzz, country rock artist Robbie Mortimer, and award-winning Māori neo-soul artist MOHI taking over venues in Melbourne, Thirroul, and Auckland, respectively.

The series continued later in the year, with rising star Jewel Owusu taking over the Palais Theatre in June and Holly Hebe presenting her songs to a New Zealand audience.

Last month, indie rockers Nana’s Pie were added to the series.
