The Streets Announce 'A Grand Don't Come For Free' Australian Tour

British outfit The Streets will return to Australia in March 2026, and with their tour, will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their seminal 2004 album, A Grand Don’t Come For Free.

Led by rapper and hype-man Mike Skinner, A Grand Don’t Come For Free is a rap-opera and concept album that follows the protagonist’s relationship with a character named Simone, plus the £1,000 that went missing from his home.

The era-defining album went on to peak at #11 in Australia and #1 in the UK—the album has since been certified Gold in Australia and quadruple Platinum in the UK. Sporting the singles Fit But You Know It, Dry Your Eyes, Blinded By The Lights, and Could Well Be In, A Grand Don’t Come For Free has an impressive reputation, with The Guardian declaring that there “isn’t really any other album like this.”

Skinner and co. will perform the album in its entirety for the first time in Australia at Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on Sunday, 1 March, the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on Wednesday, 4 March, Melbourne’s Palace Foreshore on Thursday, 5 March, a yet-to-be-announced Brisbane venue on Friday, 6 March, and the Fremantle Arts Centre on Sunday, 8 March.

Pre-sale tickets will be available on Wednesday, 22 October, at 10:00 am am local time – register here to access them. The general sale begins on Friday, 24 October, at 10 am local time via the Handsome Tours website.
