He’s taking a new record around the country next month

With his second album in the works, The Smith Street Band's Wil Wagner is hitting the road next month for a string of solo dates.

Between working on his band's third record, touring the world and collaboration with TZU's Joelistics, it seems Wagner has managed to find for a solo tour.

The punk rocker's bringing Melbourne's Georgia Maq along for the tour, which kicks off Wednesday, August 27, at Adelaide's Crown And Anchor.

The daughter of musician Hugh McDonald of folk-rock group Redgum, Maq is releasing her debut 7” With A Q via Jackknife Music later this month.

“Can't wait to get out and see everyone, will have a new solo release with me (more information on that soon),” Wagner said via Facebook.

Wagner played a couple of tunes for us last May whilst touring his debut solo record, Laika. Check them out and get pumped!
