The Smith Street Band Cancel Dublin Gig Due To Frontman Injury

"...we just can't risk it at the moment."

More The Smith Street Band The Smith Street Band

Set to kick off their European tour this week, Melbourne rockers The Smith Street Band have been forced to cancel an upcoming gig in Dublin due to ongoing injury frontman Wil Wagner suffered last month.

Just weeks after the singer injured his leg during a Melbourne show, the band announced in a statement last night that the flight from Australia made Wagner's injury "much worse".

"Friends in Dublin...We are so so sorry, but we've had to cancel the gig at Fibber Magees this Saturday," the Facebook post reads.

"For anyone who's unaware, Wil has a pretty bad leg injury and he's battling through this tour like a trooper. Basically it was getting better, but the flight over from Australia has made it much worse and being that we were flying into Dublin, we just can't risk it at the moment."

The Smith Street Band will spend the rest of the month performing shows throughout Europe.
