The 'Sharknado 2' Trailer Has Dropped, And They Just Aren't Even Trying Anymore

Come on in, the water's fine, because all the sharks are in the air

Australian pay-TV purveyor Foxtel has just posted a link to the first teaser trailer for the impending sequel to ironic hit Sharknado - Sharknado 2: The Second One, which it says its channel SyFy will air "within minutes" of the film's US premiere on July 31.

Promising to be "bigger", "bolder", and "even more ridiculous" - with zero context provided for the film other than the single quote "It's happening again!" - we are inexplicably in for a sequel to potentially one of the most hilariously pointless films of our time.

The original Sharknado was released by infamous shlock factory The Asylum - who have been responsible for several monstrosities in their time - just last year as a direct-to-TV special that took on a Snakes On A Plane-esque life of its own when the internet found out about it and proceeded to run the joke into the ground.

Former 90210 mainstay Ian Ziering and human disaster Tara Reid reprise their roles as Fin and April, who are doing their thing in the Big Apple when, according to IMDb, "a freak weather system turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a Sharknado on the population and its most cherished, iconic sites".

Okay.
