The Rolling Stones Take A 'Forty Licks' Ice Cream Truck Through London

If you saw a video of a Rolling Stones ice cream truck driving through London this week, you saw it correctly. In celebration of their Forty Licks album turning 20 and coming to vinyl for the first time, The Rolling Stones had free ice cream given out to fans stuck in the sweltering heat.

While no members of The Rolling Stones were actually in the truck serving ice cream, a picture of Mick Jagger was painted on the side, while song titles were scrawled all over the back of the truck.

Flavours included It’s Only Rocky Road, and She’s A Rainbow (with sprinkles). Posting a video of the truck driving through London on Facebook, the band wrote, “We took our Forty Licks ice cream truck to the streets of London yesterday, giving out Stones-themed ice creams to celebrate the album's digital release.

“What Stones flavour would you ask for? Our favourites were It’s Only Rocky Road, and She’s A Rainbow (sprinkles).” Forty Licks, originally released on 26 July 2003, is a compilation album spanning 40 years of the band’s legendary career.

The album also included three newly recorded songs, Stealing My Heart, Keys To Your Love and Losin’ My Touch. For the first time, Forty Licks is officially on vinyl. You can also listen to it on streaming services. Check out the entire tracklist below.

Not only is The Rolling Stones’ music on streaming services, but the iconic British rockers are also keeping up with the times by joining TikTok earlier this year.

The Rolling Stones announced their TikTok after country music icon Dolly Parton also decided to jump on. The Jolene singer joined the social media video platform in December.
